Gearheads
Since my last entry, my dad's come on board for this band thing. He plays drums. We're lucky that we can even sit in the same room as him (as musicians) because he effing pwns. You have no idea how many times I've had people tell me my old man's the best damn drummer in Detroit. So you can say we're pumped that he's in.
We're auditioning a bass player on Sunday at my place. I talked to him on the phone last night and he sounds like a cool guy. Pretty laid back and from his mannerisms he just sounds like a good ol' boy. He really digs all the songs on the preliminary song list we put together, so that's a bonus. Hopefully when we all come together we gel well. Dare I say we could be gellin' like felons? No, I dare not.
Yesterday Dan bid on and won a 1976 Marshall JMP 100 Watt Mk II amp head for $811. It's got two inputs (high and low sensitivity each) and a master volume mod. If you have no idea about guitar amps, this amp easily sells for $1500. He got a sick deal. Truly insane. The JMP Mk II head is probably in the top 3 heads ever made my Marshall, alongside the Plexi and JCM 800 series. He's probably going to get a JCM 800 cab for it for around $450 from a local guitar store. My friends, that is one sick rig for $1261. The biggest thing is that if he doesn't like the head, he could easily sell it and make money. Color me green with envy.
