First Practice
Well, we auditioned Jim, the bass player, and he's really good. He's also a pretty nice, laid-back guy, but he does have the gift of gab. Man does that guy love to talk. He also looks like Mr. Clean with a goatee and an earring. He could easily be a pirate. For a first practice, things went pretty well. I was pretty nervous during the first three songs or so, and I think Dan was too, but I settled down a bit. I definitely didn't think we'd get through 14 songs. We never had to stop, which is a good thing. A good musician should be able to keep the song moving if there's a hiccup somewhere. We practiced in my basement, and since I live in a townhouse I was worried about my neighbors. I talked to my closest neighbor and let her know what was going on. She wasn't thrilled, but didn't get pissed about it. I've yet to talk to her to see how loud it was, but all I know is in my place, it was loud as hell. I mean freaking loud.
After practice, Jim said he'd call me back on Monday night after giving it some thought. Monday night came and so did his call as promised, he seems pretty reliable, and he said he'd like to come back out. That's awesome news because, like I said, he's really good. So we've yet to schedule our next practice, but things are coming together nicely. Also, Dan's new amp should be in by the end of the week or Monday at the latest. Now I just gotta stumble upon a briefcase full of money and get a new amp and guitar. RAWK!
